Many early Vital Records for Adams County were destroyed in a courthouse fire in 1910. Some records were saved but they are sometimes hard to find. Birth Records Wills/Probate

Recording of Ohio births (and deaths) began in 1867 at the county level. A few counties, including Adams County have them for the years 1856-1857. There was a courthouse fire in 1910. A few records were saved, but most were lost.
